New North Shore NAACP Branch Seeks Members

Received via email from the Hamilton-Wenham Human Rights Coalition:

Two of America’s earliest colonial settlements (incorporated 1643 and 1793) are standing up against systemic racism and for human equality. Approximately 300 residents have formed the Hamilton-Wenham Human Rights Coalition, a grassroots effort that is committed to building "a strong and inclusive community rooted in the power of diversity, equality, and universal human rights."

As a result of this effort, many progressive initiatives are in formation. The NAACP, North Shore Branch, representing the coastal area north of Boston, is one such initiative, and is now seeking members.

One of the basic requirements for the branch to be granted a charter by the NAACP Board of Directors is that the organizing committee  must secure at least 100 members.  Once all requirements are met, the New England Area Conference (NEAC) of the NAACP will file a charter application with the Board.  NEAC is the governing and coordinating entity for branches in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.

To become a founding member, please fill out and mail in the North Shore MA NAACP application form.
